Looking for a fun and engaging way to keep your kids learning this summer? Join History Cherokee for Myths, Mysteries, and Marvels Summer Camp!
Campers will explore history through STEAM-based activities that connect to the fascinating exhibits at the Cherokee County History Center. Each day has a unique theme tied to our fascinating past.
You can register for an entire week, 1-day, 2-days, or 3-days of camp! Each day includes a themed talk, hands-on activities, time in the museum galleries, and a lunch break (campers must bring their own lunch and water bottle). Camp pick-up and drop-off will be at the Cherokee County History Center located 221 E. Marietta St. Canton, GA 30114
Camp Day Themes
Monday - Agriculture
Learn about the agriculture industry in Cherokee County and enjoy a visit from some furry and feathered farm friends. Sponsored by the Georgia Farm Bureau.
Tuesday - World War II Code Talkers & Code Breaker
Can you crack the code? Dive into the world of secret codes where you’ll create your code and see if you can cypher other campers’ secret codes.
Wednesday - Myths & Legends
Learn about Cherokee myths and constellations and then create your own myth.
Thursday - Games of Playtime Past
From board games to hopscotch and games in between, learn some fun games and create your own.
Friday - Mystery at the Museum
History Cherokee is missing an important artifact. Can you figure out who took it? Learn some basic forensic techniques and track down the thief.
