Grilled, dry, wet, fried — however you like your wings, this festival's got you covered. There's also local beer vendors to compliment the wings when you need to wash down the heat and spices! After you load up on some wings, be sure to make your way to the amphitheater stage to jam out to some epic tributes of some of the biggest names in music! All ages are welcome at this event! There's a kid's zone with plenty of fun activities to keep the kiddos busy while you feast on some wings!
So whether you're a hardcore wing-junkie looking to claim the gold medal at the hot wing eating contest or you're just looking to vibe to some classics for a nice weekend getaway, we've got the guide for everything you need to know for this event!
1. Where to Stay
If you're local, don't worry about this section and keep scrolling to find out about the entertainment line up and what to bring! If you're visiting Canton for this wing-filled weekend, we recommend staying at the newly built Fairfield Inn and Towneplace Suites! These should surely fit your accommodations no matter the party size that's coming with you. And after all the dancing you're gonna be doing, your body's definitely gonna thank you for getting a good night's rest at these hotels.

2. Come With an Appetite
If you want to maximize your experience, you're going to want to bring your appetite. Don't make the mistake of eating a huge meal before coming here because I promise you'll regret it when you're smelling the mouth-watering aroma of a chicken wing in the air as you're walking through the festival, but feel too full to go eat one. This is the number one rule for the weekend! Your taste buds will thank you later.
3. Bring Your Chairs and Blankets
Trust us, once the food belly starts to kick in from all the wings you devour, you'll appreciate the comfort of a nice lawn chair or blanket. For those of you traveling into Canton and can't pack chairs, we highly recommend bringing an easily packable blanket to sit on! If you can't bring either, don't worry! There will be seating areas for you, they just won't be as close to the music.
4. Wing Eating Contest
1 minute. That's all you get to compete against others to see who can eat the most wings in that timespan. This is a FREE contest for attendees to take part in on Saturday & Sunday. As long as you're one of the first 12 people to sign up before 1 P.M. on both days at the festival info booth, you're competing! Not only that... but you could be competing against last year's Wing Eating Champion! All participants get a festival shirt and a wing eating contest shirt too!
The Contest:
- Each competitor will start with exactly fifteen wings covered with sauce.
- The contest will last exactly one (1) minute.
- Once the contest starts, the competitors will consume their allotted wings and place the eaten chicken wing bone back into the wing receptacle.
- If a competitor finishes their allotted fifteen wings before the contest is complete, they will be given an additional ten wings to consume.
- Once the contest is complete, each competitor’s wing receptacle will be taken to be weighed by the Executive Judge.
- In the event of a tie between competitors, there will be a 30 second “run off” to determine the winner.
- Participants can be disqualified if judges determine wings were not consumed to the bone (there’s meat still on those bones).

You cannot bring in outside coolers, food, or beverages into the park. This is a food and beverage festival. Diabetics and infant food/beverages will be admitted.

Yes, Etowah River Park is a public park where dogs are allowed. Just remember to pick up after your pet and consider if it is appropriate for your dog to come.
