As autumn rolls into Canton, cooler days, colorful leaves, and back-to-back events set the stage for a season full of celebration. From long-standing traditions to can’t-miss community gatherings, fall brings plenty of ways to enjoy the spirit of the season in our City. Here’s a look at some of the events and festivities waiting to be experienced.

Rock out at the Taste & Brews Festival

Save the date for September 13 and 14, when Etowah River Park fills with the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Taste & Brews Festival. More than 20 food vendors will be onsite with everything from barbecue and tacos to Southern specialties and Latin-inspired dishes.

You’ll also find plenty of craft beer to sample, along with live music, a bustling artisan market, and a dedicated kids’ area to keep younger visitors busy. Admission is free, and proceeds benefit the Atlanta Fundraising Foundation and their mission to keep roads safe.

Pumpkin Picking and More: Visit a Local Farm

Fall isn’t complete without a trip to the farm, and Canton families have two great options nearby: Yahoo Farm and Cagle’s Farm. Each brings its own twist on seasonal fun, making them both worth a visit this year.

At Yahoo Farm, opening for the 2025 season on September 20, you’ll find activities for every age. Navigate the giant Corn Maze, take a classic Hayride, and try your aim with the Corn Cannon. Little ones will love pony rides and rubber duck races, while animal encounters add a friendly farm touch. In the evening, trade sunshine for neon lights with the glow-in-the-dark Cosmic Corn Maze and Haunted Hayrides for those who like a scare.

Meanwhile, Cagle’s Farm offers its own lineup of fall favorites. Hunt for the perfect pumpkin, wander through both their full-size Corn Maze and Mica’s mini-maze, and cheer on the Pig Races. Kids can swing, climb, and play in Clay’s Corner, while the Animal Barn introduces visitors of all ages to sheep, goats, cows, and more. Don’t leave without checking out the farm store, stocked with fresh produce and seasonal goods. With so much happening, you’ll want to spend a full day at each farm soaking up the autumn atmosphere.

Step into Canton History at 'Denim Fest'

Denim Fest is back at The Mill on Etowah for its fifth year on Saturday, October 18, bringing together Canton’s history and a full day of fall fun. Watch SEC football on the big screen, grab a drink from the pop-up bars, and enjoy plenty of food and local vendors throughout the day.

This year introduces an exciting addition to Denim Fest: a carnival experience with classic midway games, exciting rides, and inflatable fun for kids of all ages. A $5 wristband unlocks access to the carnival activities.

Denim Fest 2025 also shines a spotlight on local history. In honor of History Cherokee’s 50th anniversary, families can step into the past with “Come to Work with Salty,” an interactive walk-through tour of the Mill on Etowah, bringing to life what a day was like for mill workers through hands-on stops and trivia.

Go Craft Shopping and Scarecrow Spotting at 'Riverfest'

Riverfest, one of Canton's most beloved fall traditions, returns to Etowah River Park on September 27–28. At Riverfest, more than 150 arts & crafts exhibitors from across the Southeast will showcase their handmade goods, drawing over 25,000 visitors for a weekend of shopping, local talent, and raising money for children in need. Alongside the artisan booths, you’ll find delicious food vendors, live entertainment, and a children’s area packed with activities.

Don’t forget to check out the creative scarecrow display, crafted by local businesses and civic groups! After the festival, these scarecrows make their way to Downtown Canton, where they decorate Main Street and North Street throughout October.

Savor Local Flavor at 'Taste of Canton'

Foodies rejoice! On October 16, the third annual Taste of Canton takes over The Mill on Etowah with a showcase of local restaurants and their best bites. From appetizers and entrees to desserts and coffees, it’s a chance to sample a wide variety of Canton’s dining scene in one spot.

Thirsty? Compliment your meal tickets with a cocktail, wine, or beer from the on-site cash bar. Taste of Canton is perfect event to discover new favorites while celebrating the flavors that make Canton a standout destination for dining.

Shop Under the Stars at the Canton Farmers Market's Night Market!

This fall, the Canton Farmers Market is extending into the evening with two Night Markets on October 28 and November 25 from 4–7 p.m. in Brown Park. Under the glow of lantern light, visitors can browse fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, and seasonal specialties from local vendors.

Whether you’re stocking up for the week or just soaking in the festive atmosphere, these evening markets are a perfect way to enjoy a fall evening in Canton.

Discover Downtown Canton's Golden Ginkgo Trees

For a unique leaf-peeping experience, look no further than Downtown Canton, where our historic buildings and streets are complimented with beautiful ginkgo trees.

These ancient trees are a rare sight in many areas, making Downtown Canton especially distinctive at this time of year. The sole remaining species in a group of trees that date back to before the dinosaurs, Ginkgo trees are referred to as "living fossils." In the summer, they boast lush green leaves, but as fall and winter approach, they transform into a remarkable bright yellow, making our already picturesque historic downtown even more stunning.
