"Take It Easy" at First Friday with 'On The Border!'

It's hard to believe there's only two First Friday events left for the year. Although the season may be winding down, the lineups remain stronger than ever. Keep reading for everything you need to know to have a rocking First Friday night in September!

What is First Friday?

First Friday is Canton's ultimate summer block party! Join us each month in our Historic Downtown as we transform East Main Street into an open-air concert venue. Come early and grab dinner at one of Downtown Canton's acclaimed restaurants, or stay close to the action with a bite from some of the hottest local food trucks positioned along East Main. Classic car enthusiasts will also want to check out the car cruise-in, featuring vintage rides and meticulous restorations.

First Fridays are all about bringing the community together to kick off the weekend and they're completely free to attend. As always, parking in Downtown Canton is also free. View the Downtown Parking Map here. You can also park for free at The Mill on Etowah and take the complimentary shuttle to the event. Shuttle pickup is located next to Community Burger at the flagpole.

Take it to the Limit: On The Border

September's act knows how to live 'life in the fast lane.'

Returning to the First Friday stage, On The Border brings the timeless sound of The Eagles to Downtown Canton with striking authenticity. Known nationwide as the "Ultimate Eagles Tribute," this band delivers spot-on five-part harmonies and a setlist packed with your favorite Eagles classics - and even some deep cuts.

Each member of On The Border was purposefully chosen to emulate a specific Eagle. This attention to detail has earned them national acclaim, appearances on major stages across the country, and even a televised performance on AXSTV’s "The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands" from the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles. For Eagles fans, it’s as close as you can get to the real thing.

Know Before You Go

📍First Friday events take place at Cannon Park (130 East Main St., Canton, GA) and along East Main Street in Historic Downtown Canton.

⌚ The festivities kick off at 6 p.m., but we encourage you to arrive early to experience everything Downtown Canton has to offer!

🚗Street parking on East Main Street is unavailable during First Friday events, but there is plenty of free parking just a few steps away. Be sure to check out our Downtown parking map HERE for more information. Alternatively, catch the free park & ride shuttle from The Mill on Etowah (the pickup point is at the flag pole adjacent to Community Burger and Rock N Roll Sushi.)

🪑Lawn chairs are welcome, but please do not set them out before 7 a.m. on the day of the show - they will be subject to removal. For everyone's safety, we also ask that walkways and flowerbeds are kept clear at all times.
