River Rock returns with High-Voltage performances from Electric Avenue and Rock the 90s!

River Rock is one of Canton's most anticipated events every year - a free outdoor concert series featuring globally-recognized talent, a selection of the most delicious local food trucks, and a night out with good friends and the community. It all starts this Saturday, May 17, as Electric Avenue takes the stage at Etowah River Park, with support from Rock the 90s.

What is River Rock?

River Rock is Canton’s biggest annual concert series, set against the scenic backdrop of Etowah River Park’s outdoor amphitheater. Back by popular demand, the series returns to its full summer-long format, featuring four unforgettable nights of live music from May through August. Each show spotlights a mix of nationally-touring acts and local favorites, making it a must-attend event for music lovers of all kinds. Created to bring the community together, River Rock is completely free to attend—with plenty of onsite parking available at no cost (see map below). Don't worry about parking filling up - our parking attendants will direct you to the closest available spot.

Beyond the music, you’ll find a rotating lineup of top local food vendors, so come hungry and ready to sample something new. If you're bringing the whole family, the little ones will love the dedicated Kids Zone, packed with inflatables and activities to keep them entertained all evening long.

Whether you're coming for the music, craving great food, or simply just want to soak in the vibes, there's something for everyone to love at River Rock.

Taking you Back to the '90s

Before Electric Avenue takes the stage, Rock the 90s will fire up the crowd with a tribute to one of pop culture's most unforgettable decades.

Formed by musicians who came up during the era and still live for it, Rock the 90s has spent nearly a decade touring across the U.S., performing at festivals and venues in more than a dozen states. Their shows are built to engage every corner of the crowd—whether you’re front and center with your hands in the air or hanging in the back with your crew. If the ‘90s were your soundtrack growing up, this is the band that brings it all back, live and loud.

Electric Avenue Lights Up the Stage

This isn’t your average tribute band. Renowned for their ability to replicate the sound and spirit of the '80s with their own unique spin, Electric Avenue puts on a show that's an immersive experience from the first power chord to the final note.

What began as a one-off party gig has exploded into a decade-long touring phenomenon, with the band playing over 100 shows a year across the U.S. and abroad. From supporting icons like Pat Benatar to headlining red carpet events, this Atlanta-based band has become a go-to for fans who want to rock like it’s 1985.

Electric Avenue’s stage cred is backed up by some serious talent, with each member bringing an impressive musical résumé to the spotlight.

Frontman Kevin Spencer, on vocals and guitar, has toured with members of Queen and performed in over 500 shows of RENT. Guitarist Shannon Pengelly has earned multiplatinum studio credits with artists like Boyz II Men and Shanice. Meanwhile, bassist Tom Young and keyboardist Eric Frampton bring decades of live and studio experience, having played alongside legends like Lionel Richie, India Arie, and the B-52s. Finally, keeping it all locked in is drummer Will Groth, whose dynamic style is shaped by his work with the Zac Brown Band and Grant Green Jr.

This is a night that promises to bring back the very best of the 80s, whether you're reliving them, or experiencing them for the very first time.
