What started as a magazine, Raíces y Negocios has transformed into the necessary bridge between various communities in Cherokee County. By providing educational workshops and networking events, the group aims to help those in the community who might not know where to start their entrepreneurial journeys. The founders of Raíces y Negocios took the time with us to elaborate on their mission as more than just a magazine.

"What led you to start this business?"

Raíces y Negocios Magazine was born with a very clear purpose: to be a bridge between two communities that grow stronger together — the Hispanic community and the American community.

We firmly believe that in order for society to thrive, it is essential to create spaces where cultures can meet, learn from one another, and collaborate. Hispanics bring not only hard work and entrepreneurial spirit, but also cultural richness, creativity, and resilience. At the same time, the American community provides opportunities, support structures, and resources that, when combined, opens incredible doors.

Our magazine is not limited to showcasing Hispanic businesses; it also seeks to connect them with the broader community. We want our American neighbors to know the stories, talent, and contributions of Hispanics, while also helping our Hispanic readers recognize the importance of integrating and collaborating in the U.S. market.

In short, this project was created to be a cultural and economic bridge — a meeting point where stories are shared, opportunities are built, and the Hispanic community and American community walk together toward a stronger and more united future.

"What do you want your readers to take away from the magazine?"

We want every person who reads the magazine, attends an event, or visits our digital platforms
to feel more than just informed — we want them to feel inspired, proud, and motivated.

Our greatest wish is that, by reading the stories of other entrepreneurs, each reader thinks: “If
they made it, I can too.” — that they find practical advice, useful contacts, but above all, a sense of
belonging.

For us, it is not just about selling ad space or publishing an edition. It is about creating a real
impact in the lives of people and businesses. We want every interaction with Raíces y Negocios
to be an invitation to grow, to believe in oneself, and to recognize that our community has an
enormous value that deserves to be shared with the world.

"In what ways does your cultural heritage influence your business?"

Our cultural heritage is the very essence of the magazine. As Hispanics, we carry with us an
immense richness of traditions, values, and ways of seeing life. That heritage influences
everything — from the name “Raíces” (Roots), which reminds us where we come from, to the
way we tell stories: always with a human, authentic, and heartfelt touch.

Warmth, resilience, family values, and passion — all characteristics of our culture — are present
in every edition. We want our readers, whether Hispanic or not, to feel that cultural pride that
transcends borders. Our heritage is not a limitation; it is the driving force that inspires us to
work with greater commitment and to value collective effort.

"Small businesses are the backbone of local economies. They can play a large role in attracting visitors from other areas. What are some ways your team provides tools and resources to these Latino entrepreneurs to ensure that they succeed in Cherokee County?"

We do this in several ways. First, through the magazine, we provide visibility: a platform where businesses can present themselves beyond their immediate circle. Second, we provide educational content in our editions and digital platforms: articles on marketing, finance, leadership, and practical tools every entrepreneur needs.

In addition, we organize networking events, workshops, and community gatherings that allow Hispanic entrepreneurs to connect with other business owners, local institutions, and community leaders. In this way, we are not only providing tools, but also the connections necessary for them to grow and succeed in Cherokee County.

"What are some future goals for the magazine?"

We want to continue growing in two directions. First, to expand our coverage and distribution so that the magazine reaches more cities and states, amplifying the voice of Hispanic entrepreneurs nationwide.

Second, we want to strengthen our educational and community ecosystem: offering more workshops, training programs, and building partnerships with academic and business institutions so we can provide entrepreneurs with even more complete tools.
